During November Colin Inder from Aboricare came and pollarded the 7 plane trees and crown thinned the copper beech, if you look carefully you can see Colin almost at the top of the tree. |
Abseil Challenge

Over 40 people abseiled from the church tower on Easter Monday with the help of two Royal Marines Mountain Leaders, Gordon and Trevor. Refreshments were served in the church and Taunton Deane Morris Men came and danced on the 'Green' as you see from the picture one of them took the opportunity to join in the abseil. A great deal of money was raised by a group who came from Wilveliscome Zambian Exchange team and also by our own church.

BELL MAINTENANCE AND REPOSITIONING OF THE ORGAN |
In September a group of ringers came and worked on the bells, the first picture shows Gerald sweeping our the ringing chamber.

|
Our bell tower now required some attention and we have asked Adrian Dempster to come and check the tower where one or two cracks have appeared.
|
| The next picture is our Tower Captain Reg Colman treating the woodwork in the bell chamber. Our grateful thanks to all who helped specially Margaret Gillard who crawled up under the bells to grease the clappers, not an easy job. Anyone who would like to come and ring the bells would be most welcome to a practice session these are held at 2.30pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. |
 |
| The organ has been moved to the rear of the church, it was stripped down and rebuilt by Mr. Brian Verrier and Mr. Colin Brice of Deane Organ Builders. The first picture shows Mr. Verrier testing it just after replacing all the pipes. The second shows the organ in its finished state |

Mayor Honours Local Resident
The Mayor of Taunton Deane, Richard Lees, honoured Churchwarden Marcia Maunder with the Citizenship Award. She was nominated by a group of villagers in Hillfarrance for her service to that community - "Marcia has really brought life back to the community and made it a fun place to live!" . Our congratulations to Marcia - her considerable contribution to village life has been recognised at last.
