MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF OAKE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON

TUESDAY 13 TH APRIL 2010 AT OAKE & DISTRICT HALL

PRESENT: Cllrs. C.W.Bishop, D. Price, P. Coles, A. Dyke ,J. Paul, G. Gill, D. Roots the Clerk 8 members of the public were present.

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME: Mrs. Shorney spoke again of her distress and the disappointment of people from Saxon Close regarding the Consultation Document to build 20 properties there. She pointed out that 41 people had signed a petition against this proposal. Councillors were asked, ‘if a planning application comes in to develop 20 or more houses, would the Parish Council vote yes or no for it?’

The Parish Council would not give an opinion as this was a hypothetical question, and until an application were received and the full details of it known it would be inappropriate to speculate.

MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting held on the 9 th March were signed as being a correct record.

MATTERS ARISING:
Phone Box: BT have now completed the decommissioning of the phone box and it is now the possession of the Parish Council. It had been suggested that the School might be interested in having it as it is just on the edge of their property. It was decided to wait until a new Head is appointed before any contact is made, in the meantime the Parish Council will use it as an information point.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:
Standing Orders: This second set of Standing Orders received from SALC to be circulated and amended where necessary by the Clerk as appropriate then brought back to next months meeting for adoption.
Hillfarrance Green: The Clerk to contact S.C.C. to see what specifications would be required by them for the provision of low kerbing, also to discover what if any funding is available for the project.
