MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL MEETING OF OAKE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY 24 TH MAY 2005 AT OAKE & DISTRICT HALL

PRESENT: Cllrs. C. Bishop, Mrs. I. King, R. Shaw, P. Aldenhoven and the Clerk.

ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN: Cllr. Mrs. King proposed that Cllr. Bishop remain as Chairman all agreed to the Acceptance of Office Form was duly signed and Taunton Deane will be informed.

ELECTION OF VICE CHAIRMAN: Cllr. Bishop proposed that Mrs. I. King be Vice Chairman all agreed.                      

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME:   None

APOLOGIES: Cllrs. P. Coles, D. Price and J. Paul

MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting held on the 26th April were signed as being a correct record.                          

MATTERS ARISING:

Safety Barrier: The Highways Authority have put markings on the footpath were the proposed barrier will be positioned.

Affordable Housing: Jo Cox of the Community Council for Somerset in conjunction with Knightstones Housing Association are looking into the possibility of providing four affordable houses in Oake. They met with Cllr. Bishop who provided a map of the area and pointed out possible sites.

Calor Award Money: Five hundred pounds had been received from Calor, this being the prize for winning the Regional finals. It was proposed that this money be handed to Oake & District Hall to enable another computer to be purchased.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:
Electoral Review of T.D.B.C.
The documents to be circulated and to be discussed at the June meeting.
S.A.L.C.: A meeting will be held on the 9th June at Bicknoller. All documents to be circulated.
Community Access Fund: This to be circulated and put for discussion next month.
Burial Ground Grants: The Clerk to contact the relevant Treasurers for their figures although it appears that some cuts may have to be made. The Parish Liaison Officer is hoping to keep the figures the same as last year.

PLANNING:  None
           Planning approval has been received for:

  • Erection of Two Storey Extension to replace store and utility room at Rendy Farm, Oake.
  • Erection of Extension at Rear of Meadow View/Hill View, Blagroves, Oake.

FINANCE:

To agree the following cheques for payment:

Cheque No: 000266 Allianze Cornhill Insurance PLC £314.73
Cheque No: 000267 Clerk's 3 month salary/parish exp. £547.21
Cheque No: 000268 Oake & District Hall £500.00

                      

These were proposed for payment by Cllr. Mrs. King and seconded by Cllr. P. Aldenhoven.
