MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF OAKE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY 11 TH MARCH 2008 AT OAKE & DISTRICT HALL  

PRESENT: Cllrs. C. Bishop, P. Coles, D. Price, D. Roots, J. Paul, G. Gill the parish Clerk, David Greig   the Parish liaison Officer from Taunton Deane and Police Constable Phil John.

MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting held on the 12 th February were signed as being a correct record.

MATTERS OF REPORT:

Speed Watch:  Training has been arranged for April 9 th at Oake Hall. 7.00 p,m.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:

Hillcommon Village Nameplate: The estimated costs for providing a new ‘Hillcommon’ nameplate is £96. 59. Councillors agreed to this cost being met, Highways will now be asked to proceed.

Postwatch: Postwatch are concerned about the number of Post Offices being closed, we are fortunate in as much as Oake was not on the list for closure. Paperwork to be circulated.

Save it:   Papers to be circulated.

Community Justice Panel: A request was made from the Wellington Community Justice Panel to come and speak at a Parish Council meeting, a list of meetings was sent to them inviting them to choose a date.

Petition to ‘Save Parish Councils’: This had been received from a Parish Clerk in Cambridgeshire, it was felt that no action should be taken.

The Chairman declared an interest in the following planning items and took no part in the discussions or decisions.

PLANNING:

27/2008/004 Erection of single storey extension to North elevation at Pitlands Farm, Hillfarrance.

It was proposed by Cllr. Paul, seconded by Cllr. Price and this application be supported. All in favour.

27/2008/005 Change of use and conversion of barn (unit 1) to dwelling and conversion of modern farm buildings to garages, stables and indoor riding school and formation of ourdoor ménage, Allerford Farm, (partial amended scheme to 27/2005/023)

Proposed Cllr. Price, seconded Cllr. Paul that this application be supported. All in favour.

27/2008/006 Erection of 2 no. semi detached dwellings with associated parking, land adjoining Baron House, Hillcommon.

Cllrs. Had no observations to make, therefore there were no objections. All agreed.

27/2008/007T Application to carry out work to one Oake Tree included in TDBC (Oake 1) Preservation Order at 3 Saxon Close, Oake.

There were no objections to this application. All agreed.
