MINUTES

MINUTES OF THE   MEETING OF OAKE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON

TUESDAY 8 TH JUNE 2010 AT OAKE & DISTRICT HALL

PRESENTt:   Cllrs. Bishop, A. Dyke, J. Paul, D. Roots the Clerk, SCC. Tony McMahon   and 3 members of the public

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME:   Council were asked if the Core Strategy is now abandoned. The were told that talks are in progress to develop a new Strategy   which would try and find a compromise between jobs and housing and it was unclear as yet at to what would happen.

DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:   Cllr. C.W.Bishop   (Planning),.

APOLOGIES:   Cllr. P Coles, G. Gill,   D. Price.

MINUTES: The Minutes of the Annual General meeting held on the 11 th Mal were signed as being a correct record.

MATTERS ARISING:

Hillfarrance Green: S.C.C. Tony McMahon was asked to see if he could find out if the scheme for restoring the Green could be brought forward in light of the contributions to be made by the church and local fundraising, also to see if other funds were available.
Speed Gun: So far only Mr. Nicholls and Mrs Sargent have shown an interest in training to use this gun. We are still looking for someone to spearhead the project.
Saxon Close parking:   Jon McAteer the local PCSO to be asked to keep and eye on this stretch of road and to move any cars on which park at the entrance to Saxon Close.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:

Telephone box : The clerk to order the necessary paint and to find someone to paint the box.
Children’s safety:  A request has been made for signs to be placed near the Post Office where the children have to cross the road from one path to another in order to get to and from school. Cllr. McMahon and the Clerk to see what if anything can be done.

PLANNING:   

27/10/0004LB Amendments to listed building consent 27/09/0010?LB and formation   of new entrance gateway to front garden wall at Kanpp Farm, Hillfarrance.

There were no objections to this application.
