MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF OAKE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON

TUESDAY 12 TH JANUARY 2010 AT OAKE & DISTRICT HALL

PRESENT: Cllrs. C.W.Bishop, D. Price, P. Coles, A. Dyke ,J. Paul, G. Gill, D. Roots and the Clerk.

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME:    None

MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting held on the 17 th November were signed as being a correct record.

MATTERS ARISING:

Police Report: At Oake & Bradford School there was a report of a strange male wandering around. This male was arrested for breaching his restraining order.
Report of a mountain bike dumped over the gate opposite Oake Close.
A domestic crime at Oake Golf Club one female arrested for GBH.
A complaint from a member of the public that the hedge at the end of Broom Lane needed cutting the Council was informed.
At the Royal Oak violence against the person reported.

Phone Box: Despite the Clerks attempts to get information about what is happening with the phone box outside the school no replies have been forthcoming from BT.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:

Talking Tomorrow’s Taunton Deane: Councillors were made aware of a presentation which will take place at Oake Village Hall on Tuesday 9 th February between 3.30pm and 6.30pm. They will be looking at future development in Taunton Deane from employment to housing and shopping to green space. We would urge everyone to drop in to this exhibition.

PLANNING:   

27/09/0023 Erection of an additional dwelling at Orchard Farm, Hillcommon

 Councillors felt that the building is inappropriately sited in the countryside and if the need for a dwelling exists in planning terms it should be sited close to the existing farm buildings. It would also affect a footpath.

Planning Decisions by Taunton Deane,

Approved: Erection of a horticultural nursery to include poly tunnel and construction of access at land south of Harris’s Farm, Hillcommon.
Approved: Erection of single storey 5 classroom building, temporary relocation of classroom unit, together with ancillary works including car park and hard play area at Oake Primary School.
Approved: Internal alterations to Blagroves Farm Oake.
Enforcement Notice: Gaia, Hillfarrance.
