MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF OAKE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY 10 TH FEBRUARY   2009 AT OAKE & DISTRICT HALL

PRESENT: Cllrs. C. Bishop, G. Gill, D. Price, A. Dyke, J. Paul, P. Coles, D. Roots the Clerk and one member of the public.

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME:     None

MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting held on the 13 th January were signed as being a correct record.

MATTERS ARISING:

Oake & Bradford School: An Addendum to the Statutory Notice published on the 8 th January has been displayed and circulated to Councillors. It was agreed that the Clerk should write confirming our previous comments.

Hillfarrance Green: The Land Registry documents are now with Judith Jackson, Taunton Deane’s Solicitor.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:

Rural Youth Project: This is asking people to help make a difference to the lives of our youngsters by offering them lifts to activities held elsewhere. It was agreed to publish this in the local ‘News from the Villages’.

Power of Well being: for Parishes and Town Councils, this is a new power to support financially, and otherwise, a community shop, a commercial shop and / or Post Office, any other form of economic activity, it can also be used to provide support for alternative energy sources or other environmental activity or for an individual. This new power effectively replaces section 137 of Local Government Act 1972. Not all Councils will qualify for ‘Power of Well-being’, events are being held by Somerset Association of Local Councils to enable everyone to find out more about it.

Police Report: There has been one burglary from a building in Hillfarrance in which a mini moto and tools were taken, and a horse box broken into at Hillfarrance where nothing was taken.

PLANNING:    

27/09/0001 Improvement of Agricultural access, land part NG 4525, North of B3227 at Hillcommon

The proposal was that this application be supported, all Cllrs. agreed.
