MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF OAKE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY 21 ST APRIL 2009 AT OAKE & DISTRICT HALL           

PRESENT: Cllrs. C. Bishop, G. Gill, D. Price, A. Dyke, J. Paul, P. Coles, D. Roots the Clerk, Cook Tony McMahon Borough Councillor for Milverton and West Somerset.

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME:    None

MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting held on the 10 th March were signed as being a correct record.

MATTERS ARISING:

Proposed Play Area for Oake: A taster day for children is being arranged for the 24 th April

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:

Sharing of Speed Radar Gun:    Cllrs. considered the possible sharing of the Radar gun with Bradford-on-Tone, it was felt that this would add complications regarding Insurance   and would not be a good idea.

Speed watch indicators: These have again been in use in Hillcommon. They show an increase in speed on the east bound traffic and a slight decrease in west bound.

Driver Awareness Course: A course will only be run if sufficient people show an interest, at present only two have signed up.

Section 137: (4)(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 for parish and town councils in England for 2009/10 is £6.15.

 PLANNING:   

27/09/0005 Conversion of former agricultural building into 4 commercial units (B1 use) at Oake Manor Golf Club.

Councillors supported this application. Proposed Cllr. Gill, seconded Cllr. Price all agreed.

27/08/00038 Erection of Field Shelter on land adjacent to Hazlemere, Hillcommon.

Councillors supported this application. Proposed Cllr. Gill, seconded Cllr. Paul.

0006/AGN construction of access and erection of machinery store to land north east of Knapp Farm.

It was agreed to support this application by 5 votes to 1 (Cllr. Coles) Cllrs. said they hoped this would help in tidying up this field. Proposed Cllr. Price, seconded Cllr. Gill.
