MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF OAKE PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY 10 TH APRIL   2007 AT OAKE & DISTRICT HALL

PRESENT: Cllrs. C. Bishop, D. Price,   R. Shaw, J. Paul, the parish Clerk Mrs. Caroline Smeaton SCC..

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME:     None

DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:

APOLOGIES: Cllr. P. Coles and   Mrs. I. King.

MINUTES: The Minutes of the meeting held on the 13 th March were signed as being a correct record.

MATTERS ARISING:

Parish Plans:   Funding is still available, this item to be brought before the Annual Parish Meeting.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:

Invitation to discuss S.C.C’s unitary proposals.   The first meeting is at Kingsmead on the 16th of April.

Audit:  Has been set for 30 th June a review has been made of the internal audit.

Land/Bungalow for sale at Oake: Oake View Farm is up for sale in 4 lots. S.C.C. has so far refused to put a covenant on any of the land prohibiting mobile homes. It is felt that one field in particular has the potential to attract a certain sector of the public and Nynehead Parish Council had asked for a covenant to be put on the land to stop mobile homes being allowed on it.

Cllr. Bishop suggested that if S.C.C. are unwilling to put a covenant on restricting mobile homes then Oake Parish Council should write asking that a covenant be put on all 4 lots of land restricting it to the use of agricultural, horticultural or forestry purposes.

It was agreed that a letter should be sent to Matthew Jones requesting this.

Waterlinks: This covers the floodplain of the Tone and its tributaries who are seeking ‘Big Lotttery People/’s Millions’ funding. It would create areas of wet grading to dry woodland in the floodplain, this would benefit wildlife and provide access and amenity for local residents

The Parish Council agreed to write and offer their support for the project.

Review of Tendered Bus Services:  As this does not affect Oake no action to be taken.

Home Composting: Somerset Waste Partnership are once again able to offer competitively priced home composting equipment to local residents, all prices include delivery. Anyone interested may contact the Clerk or pick up a leaflet from Oake Hall.
